PURPOSE:To suppress an increase in loss low at low temperature, to eliminate the need for a tensile strength material, and to achieve application to subscriber lines by providing a piece of fiber wire lengthwise with plastic filaments which have a small coefficient of lengthwise linear expansion and a large modulus of elasticity. CONSTITUTION:A piece of optical wire 1 which has a thin primary coating of urethane, mica, and silicon is provided lengthwise with plastic monofilaments 4 which are drawn and oriented to a high level and have small coefficients of lengthwise linear expansion and large moduli of elasticity, and the external circumference is wound with a tape 4 or thin plastic coating layer 5 under same pressure. As a result, this never buckles and has no increase in transmission loss with a drop of temperature. |
