The system has a separate control unit (2) ad locking unit (3), wherein the control unit has components which are not loaded by lock operating forces and wherein the parts carrying such forces are arranged exclusively on the locking unit. A lock catch member (5) is movable by means of a control member (14) in the control unit, the movement of the control member (14) being selectively prevented by two blocking members (20) (21) which are, in turn movable by control actuating elements.
