PURPOSE:To execute a test of a modeIand a mode II with the specimens of the same shape, by providing a holding part which has been constituted so that fittings for installing the specimen to a testing machine become on the same level when a pinch-holding plate part has been superposed. CONSTITUTION:On fittings 2, 3, a specimen 1 is installed to fitting parts 1b, 1c by use of a bolt, etc., and they are constituted of holding parts 22, 32 structured so as to be on the same level when pinch-holding plate parts 21, 31 have been superposed. In this state, when the holding parts 22, 32 of the fittings 2, 3 are installed to a testing machine and are drawn in the direction as indicated with an arrow, shearing stress operates on the specimen 1, making a crack 1a a boundary, and a mode II is tested. On the other hand, in case of testing a mode I (opening type), the test can be executed by use of a chuck holder jig which is usually used at present by giving a load in the direction as indicated with an arrow as shown by a dotted line in the figure. |
