PURPOSE:To smoothly start an engine by providing a means of boosting a pressure of fuel squeezed at starting point when the engine is hot and vapor-lock may be ready to occur, for a controller of an automotive fuel pump, thereby surely sending fuel under pressure even if the engine is kept hot. CONSTITUTION:When an engine switch is turned on, a certain positive voltage is developed at a starting terminal 43 and an energizing current is supplied through a coil 40 of a relay 35 to make an armature 38 in contact with contact points 36, 37. When a temperature of cooling water of the engine is over a certain level, a sensor 18 has an electronic control 15 energize a coil 51 to make an armature 50 in contact with contact points 48, 49 so that a current fed from a dc supply 41 bypasses a resistor 52 and is sent to an armature 54, thereby boosting voltages of the armature 54 at the terminals thereof to increase running speed of a fuel pump 31. An estimation of a lapse of a certain time from a point when a primary current signal is sent to the electronic control 15 from a distributor 33 at a starting time shuts off power supply for the original normal state. |
