PURPOSE:To perform efficient scanning in case of scanning plural individual devices through a comman device by discriminating mounted individual device numbers and their priority at first and then determining the scanning frequency according to the number of devices in each priority. CONSTITUTION:In a scanning system scanning only a using individual device effectively when a common device scans plural individual devices #0-#n time- sharingly, said individual devices are scanned up to the maximum number of connectable devices at the starting of operation, a response indicating that the individual devices corresponding to the scanned device numbers have been mounted and the priority information of these devices are received and the individual device numbers and their priority information are stored in an initializing means. The frequency of scanning in each priority is calculated from the number of individual devices in each priority stored by the initializing means and the mounted individual devices in each priority are scanned according to said frequency. Consequently only the mounted individual devices are scanned, improving the scanning efficiency. |
