PURPOSE:To improve the removal ratio of acetylenes, reduce side reactions and stabilize the reaction for a long term in hydrogenating acetylenes in a 3-4C olefinic hydrocarbon fraction in the pressurized liquid phase, by using a solid catalyst containing Pd and an acetate in the anhydrous state. CONSTITUTION:Acetlyenic compounds in a fraction containing 3-4C olefinic hydrocarbon fraction essentially are selectively hydrogenated in the pressurized liquid phase. In the process, a solid catalyst containing Pd and an acetate is used in the substantially anhydrous state. The catalyst is prepared by dehydrating with a dehydrating agent, e.g. molecular sieve or activated alumina supporting an activated alumina metallic salt, into the anhydrous tate. The stability of the catalyst is remarkably improved by the anhydrous state. The reaction temperature is 0-80 deg.C, preferably 5-60 deg.C, and the reaction pressure is 2-30kg/cm<2>.G, preferably 3-20kg/cm<2>.G. |
