PURPOSE:To enable to automate a device, by a method wherein map data of a given district and map data of a plural number of districts adjoining the given district are previously stored, and when a car reaches the given district, a map on a displaying means is renewed into that of the adjoining district. CONSTITUTION:A cassette tape 3a, storing map data of a plural number of districts, is set to a reading device 3, and reads map data to store it in a RAM 4c. Meanwhile, a current position of a car is found by means of distance from a bearing detector 1 and a distance sensor 2, and a current position is displayed togetherwith a map of a district, whereat a car is currently running, out of map data stored in the RAM4c. From a data regarding a current position, it is decided that a car reaches a given adjoining district region, a map data corresponding to an adjoining district is read from the RAM4c, and a map and a current position on the CRT6 are renewed. This permits self-switching of a display of a road map. |
