PURPOSE:To prevent a developing machine from staining during heat development, by adding a mixture consisting of an organic acid silver salt, a photosensitive silver salt, a reducing agent, phthalazine, a color tone controller of a specified compound to a support and/or a layer on the support. CONSTITUTION:A heat developable photographic material is prepared by adding to a support made of a synthetic plastic film, a photographic paper base, printint paper, etc., and/or a layer formed on the support a mixture consisting of an organic acid silver salt, a photosensitive silver salt and/or a component for forming the photosensitive silver salt, a reducing agent, and a color tone controller represented by the formulaI, II, or III in which R<1>, R<2> are each H, halogen, hydroxyl, alkyl, or aryl; R<3>, R<4> are H, alkyl, or cycloalkyl; R<5>, R<6> are H, hydroxy, or the like; and R<7>, R<8>, R<9> are H, halogen, or the like. |
