PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of vacuum degree in a glass container by fusing a vacuum vessel airtight wherein a copper is previously deposited on a peripheral sealing section of a germanium window plate by evaporation and treated thermally. CONSTITUTION:A jig 24 for inserting an evaporation source is heated to attach a metal layer 29 of Cu to the side section of a window disc 21 of Ge and the peripheral section of the bottom thereof by evaporating atoms of Cu as the evaporation source. Then, the window disc 21 is introduced into a drying furnace in the atmosphere of an inert gas and thermally treated therein. The metal Cu evaporated is introduced into the disc of Ge to form an alloy metal of Ge and Cu. Thus, an infrared ray transmitting window plate is manufactured. Thereafter, the transmitting window plate is thermally pressed on a copal cylinder connected to the end of an internal tube of a glass vessel through an In wax to form a infrared ray detector. |
