PURPOSE:To eleveate flange workability, and accordingly, to obtain a can which is excellent in its quality and generates no crack in its flange part, by smoothing a trimming surface obtained by the trimming step, when manufacturing the can. CONSTITUTION:An opening part of a bottomed cylindrical vessel is trimmed by a roll molding machine, etc., and after that, this trimming surface is smoothed by a suitable polishing means. Subsequently, to this smoothed trimming surface, flanging is performed by a press or a roll, and also, in case when a material is thick, a press method is utilized, and in case when it is thin, a roll method is utilized. As a result, flange workability in case of manufacturing a can can be elevated, and accordingly, it is possible to obtain a can which is excellent in its quality and generates no crack in its flange part. |
