<p>This device is used by a surgeon in order to easily and accurately chose, from amongst the numerous sizes existing for each type such as 'closed or 'emptiable', the receiving bag adapted to the size of a stoma, in order to form an anastomosis in the receiving bag with a hollow organ. The device is formed by two branches (1,2) attached at their centres (11) like a pair of scissors. One branch (1) bears at its end a scale (3) which shows all sizes of collecting bags available for a specific type of bags. The corresponding end (8) of the other branch (2) is used as an index. The device is open so that the distance between the ends (9,10) of the branches (1,2) is equal to the size of the stoma. The index (8) then shows which receiving bag must be used.</p> |
