PURPOSE:To improve productivity while preventing inclusion of the atmospheric air and extending the life of a three plate type sliding nozzle by providing a gas sealing member which ejectes an inert gas in the circumference in the side part of the refractories of said nozzle. CONSTITUTION:An inert gas introducing branch pipe 8 in disposed in a metal frame 7 on the outer side of a middle plate 6 of a three plate type sliding nozzle consisting of an upper plate 11, a middle plate 6 and a lower plate 13 and an inert gas in ejected through bored holes. After this inert gas abuts on the metal hoop of the plate 6, it ejects in a downwared direction, and shuts off the spacing between the plates 13 and 6 and between the plate 6 and 11, thereby preventing the inclusion of air and decreasing the erosion of the inside surfaces of a lower nozzle 9 and an immersion nozzle 10. The similar effect is also obtained by embeddding similar inert gas introducing pipes into the frame 12 of the plate 11 and the frame 14 of the plate 13 and ejecting the inert gases from the three plates of the top, middle and bottom thereby shutting off the air in these parts. |
