发明名称 CASTING METHOD BY SHEARING FIELD
摘要 PURPOSE:To make the concn. distributions of impurities and component elements uniform and to prevent segregation by rotating either one or both of a core and a mold to apply shearing fields into the molten metal and solidifying the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:A core 8 is made of stainless steel having a conical bottom surface which is high at the center. It is so designed that it can be inserted into a mold 9 and be rotated. The mold 9 is made of an acrylic resin and is so constructed that molten metal 10 circulates in the circumference. Wood's alloy is used as molten metal 11, and shearing fields are applied to the molten Wood's alloy 11 by rotating the core 8 so that the metal 11 is solidified in a temp. region below its solidifying point. The component elements are made uniform thereby and the segregated crystal grains of large sizes are not observed. The core 8 and the mold 9 are simply required to be provided with the surfaces of rotating bodies, and the selection of the surface shapes in accordance with their purposes suffices. Either one or both of the core 8 and the mold 9 may be rotated and the most convenient rotating method may be employed.
