The sensor is fixed on a conductor in order to measure the current flow. The sensor comprises a succession of adjacent coils whose axis of symmetry are placed so that they form a polygon. In one version, the set of coils is enclosed in an articulated casing so that the sensor can be mounted around an existing conductor, without having a disassemble the connector. This non-ferrous sensor has a large measurement range. It is designed to measure AC currents and to be sufficiently accurate for industrial applications whilst being economical to manufacture. Its dimensions depend only on the cross-section of the conductor on which it will be mounted.
