Dental restorative construction comprises a metal core of non-precious metal alloy contoured in desired form and a porcelain covering bonded to it having fusion temp. max. of 1010 deg. C and expansion coefft. 10x 10-6 - 21 x 10-6 in/in/≦̸C. The metal core alloy has fusion temp. 1260-1343 ≦̸C expansion coefft. 13.6-14.5 x 10-6 in/in/≦̸C. Rockwell hardness as cast 90-100, tensile stength as cast at least 551-580 KPa and elongation as cast 2.0-5.0. The alloy consists of 65-80% Ni, 12-20% Cr, 3.5-5.0% Si, 3.0-6.0 % Mo and 0.2-0.6% B by wt. The core alloy has good physical strength, corrosion resistance, workability and ability to bond to porcelain.
