<p>A pair of door handles (1,3) each have a square hole (3a) to permit fixing to a shaft (2) on which they are retained by pins (4) passing through the handle and the shaft. On one side of the door is formed a washer (5) while on the other side is a step washer (7) with a threaded hole in its outer face. This receives the threaded section (8a) of a thrust nut (8). Knurling (8c) on the edge of the nut allows it to be rotated to take up play in the door handle set. The square hole in the centre may be made into an eight sided hole to permit different orientations of the adjuster nut assembly to restrict the required rotation of the nut assembly for different humidity effects on the door.</p> |
