The pricker for piercing egg shells before the eggs are boiled consists of a bottom part forming a base, and a top part for the egg. The two parts slip inside one another. The base, (2) has a shaft (5) supporting the piercing point (7) and sliding in a guide duct (7). The duct has retaining lugs (9,10) on the inside beyond which a cut out (11) on the shaft passes. The base has at least one flexible strip (14).
