A method is proposed which serves to operate a pneumatic system preferably belonging to a central locking installation of a motor vehicle. The system comprises as a pressure generator a vane pump which can be driven in such a way that its direction of rotation can be reversed and is operatively connected to at least one working cylinder, which can also be manually actuated. The vane pump produces the requisite working pressure in one direction of rotation and is switched off as soon as this pressure is reached. In order to then rapidly adapt the pressure in the system to the ambient pressure (atmospheric pressure), the vane pump is briefly operated in the opposite direction. <IMAGE> |
