<p>The solar heat collector consists of a bank of tubes subjected to concentrated solar radiation. The tubes are assembled in pairs (12,12'), each tube being joined by a plate (14,14') to a support tube (20. A removable spindle (22) is passed through each support tube and is fixed to the frame (24) of the collector. During hte assembly of the collector, the tubes are subjected to a 'cold-pull, using a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder, prior to fixing. This ensures that the stresses due to expansion are minimised. The collector can be dismantled piece by piece piece as required.</p> |
