The invention relates to a magnetic bearing for the purpose of supporting a rotor. Radial support for the rotor is provided by electromagnetic coils (9, 10) controlled by a control circuit in response to position sensors (1, 2). Support for the rotor in other respects can be either passive or active. According to the invention, the control circuit has a memory (17) in which speed-synchronous disturbing influences are stored over an angular range of 360 DEG (for example errors in geometry, unbalance or centre offset). A scanning device (16) scans the memory location corresponding to the instantaneous rotor position and supplies the variable contained therein to a compensation circuit. This forms a correction signal which is superimposed on the sensor signal of the position sensors (1, 2) and thus eliminates the disturbing influences. <IMAGE> |
