<p>An internal combustion engine unit for the generation of electrical current and/or compression of air, especially for sewage treatment plants, has an internal combustion engine (4), an electric generator and a rotary compressor, which are coupled together by means of clutches (9, 11). In order to design such a unit so that it remains capable of functioning even in the event of malfunctions in the sewage treatment plant, a synchronous reversing motor (5) is connected by way of a clutch (9) to the output side of the internal combustion engine (4) and the rotary compressor is in turn connected to the output side of this machine by way of a clutch (11). <IMAGE></p> |
