The heat exchanger for obtaining heat from recirculating air has a plurality of heat exchange elements through which a heat exchange medium flows, which are interconnected in series and arranged one above another at a mutual distance from one another and whose surfaces are exposed to a current of air rising up approximately centrally and which in each case have an outer skin which is impervious to the flow medium, contain openings in the interior for the flow and the distribution of the heat exchange medium and are provided with at least one inlet and at least one outlet for the heat-conducting medium. Each heat exchange element contains a feed line which ends in the interior of the heat exchange element. A filling made from open-cell foam (expanded plastic) or plastic pellets (granules) is arranged between the exit end of said line and the return.
