PURPOSE:To enable high grade color recording showing no positional shift by enabling the stable wind-up of an ink sheet, by largely setting the back tension of the ink sheet at the time of recording while setting the same small at the time of empty feed. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer color printer wherein an thermal head 3 is energized to the direction of a platen roller 4 at the time of recording and spaced apart from said platen roller 4 at the time of the empty feed of paper 2 and an ink sheet 1, a torque controller 9 is connected to the shaft of a supply reel 5 in order to impart back tension to the ink sheet 1 and the current applied to said torque controller 9 is changed between at the time of recording and at the time of empty feed. |
