For the purpose of obtaining a good sealing effect the flap (3), serving especially to cover an inlet opening (2) of a storage vessel (1) of a fuel tank, comprises a rigid stabilising plate (4) and a very thin, flexible seal (6), connected to this plate only at localised points whilst maintaining a gap (s), the seal in its operating position lying, as it were, like a diaphragm over the opening (2). <IMAGE>
