The invention relates to a multipurpose hall which is provided, in particular, as a livestock barn and comprises prefabricated structural parts which simplify and facilitate the erection of halls of this type, with the result that a type of construction which permits the building owner to manage essentially with his/her own resources is made possible. For this purpose, after the erection of the lower support structure of the roof, for example of a support wall, the support posts and the like, the invention provides that, first of all, part-surfaces of the roof surface are formed using roof-forming elements such as rafters, trusses, roof covering and the like, which part-surfaces are assembled in a position close to the ground and are pivotably connected to the lower supporting structure of the roof and are pivoted, in the form of part-surfaces, into the raised end position in which they are then connected, directly or by connecting elements, to other part-surfaces to form the finished roof. An erection method of this type is simplified according to the invention by trusses and rafters which can be connected in an articulated manner to the lower supporting structure of the roof by a connecting means, which first of all serve as articulation means and later can be configured in rigid form, and which are connected, via an identical connecting means, to supports which can be pivoted out of the folded-down position on the ground into a mounted position in the end position of the rafters or trusses.
