<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption, by supplying power to a pack from a computer main body to store contents of a PROM in the pack into an RAM of a CMOS of the main body only when the pack is inserted and stopping the power supply to the pack after this storage is terminated. CONSTITUTION:A portable computer main body where a pack 16 with a PROM 4 mounted is attachable and detachable is provided with an RAM 3 of the CMOS which has an enough capacity to store all contents stored in the PROM 4 of the pack. When the pack is mounted on the device main body, the power of a battery 5 is supplied to the pack through a one shot 7, a latch 8, an MPU 1, and a power supply controlling circuit 9 to transfer contents stored in the PROM 4 of the pack to the RAM 3 by turning-on of a microswitch 6; and after this transfer, the power supply to the pack is stopped, thus reducing the power consumption.</p> |
