PURPOSE:To reduce noise by providing a compound metal plate for supporting a rotary shaft which comprises two metal plates and viscoelastic high-polymer compound interposed therebetween so as to absorb vibration and noise of gears. CONSTITUTION:Rear and front base plates 2, 1 for suporting rotary shafts 6, 8 respectively comprise inside plates 203, 103, outside plates 201, 101 and high- polymer compounds 202, 102 interposed therebetween. Bearings 3, 4, 3', 4' and a column 5 are attached to only the inside plates 103, 203 of the base plates 1, 2, the column 5 being kept from contacting the outside plates 101, 201. Thus, vibration and noise produced by engagement of an output shaft gear 7 with an intermediate shaft gear 9 are transmitted through the shafts 6, 8, the bearings 3, 4, 3', 4', the inside plates 103, 203 and the high-polymer compounds 102, 202 to the outside plates 101, 201, whereby the vibration and noise are converted to thermal energy by viscoelasticity of the high-polymer compounds 102, 202 to be damped. |
