In a double cuff operating device, a pneumatic switch (10) having at least an input connection piece (21) and two outlet connection pieces (25) is arranged in a housing. The two outlet connection pieces can be linked each with one of the rubber bladders of a double pressure cuff. A locking device designed as a tubular valve (11; 12) is arranged in each outlet. These locking devices can be alternatively actuated by a means of a common control member (41) designed as an adjustment cam linked to a control lever (53). A checking member (14) locks the control member (41) in its two working positions, preventing it from being accidentally moved. The checking member (14) is designed as a locking device having a checking bar (54) movable on the control member (41) between a release position and a locking position. In its checking position, the checking bar (54) cooperates with a swivelling stop (57; 58) and is pressed by a restoring spring into its checking position, from which it can be moved into the release position by means of a control button (64).
