METHOD FOR PRODUCING OF POSITIVE REINFORCED ELECTRODES FOR LEADACCUMULATORS

Positive ironclad plates for laad accumulators are produced by laying the lead frames with the active material on a plastic fibre tissue and passing them through a pair of rollers. The tissue is folded over, passed through a roller press, and the plate is profiled for the sewing operation. In the final stage, the plate is sewn together to form parallel segments. The result is a uniform compression of the active material, without air cushions or gas intrusions during the electroforming. A good contact is thus ensures between active material and sheath.
