PURPOSE:To obtain a stable color picture even in case of reproducing at a high speed, by selecting a tape speed in case of reproducing at a high speed, to even times as high as that in case of regular reproducing, and inverting its amplitude characteristic at every field. CONSTITUTION:A reproducing signal from a video head 1 is separated into an FM-Y signal and a low band converting color signal Ec by a high-pass filter 2 and a low-pass filter 3. This FM-Y signal is removed as to its amplitude variation through a limiter 4, and after that, reproducing luminance signal E'Y is obtained by an FM demodulator 5 and a low-pass filter 6. This reproducing luminance signal E'Y is clipped by a control signal for designating a period of a grey level of a video signal applied from a control signal generator 15, in a video signal converting circuit 14. The control signal is obtained by pulse- shaping that which has detected the FM-Y signal so as to be a signal of only an envelope, and is formed so that logical levels ''H, L'' are inverted at every field. |
