PURPOSE:To enhance the sensitivity and endurance by adding a specified bisazo pigment to the photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:To a charge generating layer is added a bisazo pigment represented by formulaI(where R is optionally substituted alkyl or aryl, each of Ph1, Ph2, Ph3 and Ph4 is optionally substituted arylene, each of X1 and X2 is an optionally substituted bivalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group such as -CH2-, -C2H4- or -CH=CH-, -O-, a group represented by formula II or III, -NH-, -NHCO-, -S-, -S-S-, -SO- or -SO2-, and Cp is a coupler residue such as a residue represented by formula IV, wherein X is a group of atoms required to form a polycyclic aromtic hydrocarbon ring or a heterocyclic ring, Y is H, a group represented by formula V or -COOR3, and each of R3 and R4 is H, alkyl or aryl). |
