In order to manufacture an all-metal spring-type die cushion, the invention calls for a knitted fabric made of spring wire to be taken up in a winding sleeve (14). In the winding sleeve (14), the end of the knitted fabric is held in place on the fabric coil (76) by micro-welding. The winding sleeve (14) is aligned flush with a compression tube (148) with the same internal diameter at a press station (22). By means of a punch (162), the fabric coil is pushed into the compression tube (148) where it is compressed into a spring-type die cushion. The spring-type die cushion is subsequently pushed out of the compression tube. |
