<p>A tracking control device for a video tape recorder comprises a bimorph leaf (5) on which a rotary playback head (2) is mounted so as to be deflectable in a direction perpendicular to tracks (1a) to be scanned. A triangular wave signal generating circuit (11) comprising cascaded flip-flops (17 to 20) generates a substantially triangular wave signal which is supplied to the bimorph leaf (5) to cause the playback head (2) to wobble relative to the tracks (1a). A detecting circuit (6) detects an envelope signal in the signal reproduced by the playback head (2), and a phase comparing circuit (13) which includes an exclusive-OR circuit (35) compares the phase of this envelope signal with the phase of the triangular wave signal. The output of the phase comparing circuit (13) is fed back to the bimorph leaf (5) to effect tracking correction.</p> |
