PURPOSE:To obtain an easy method which does not require a treatment for making a material hydrophilic, by providing a film of an insulating liquid over the hydrophilic surface of a photoconductor, sticking developer in an image shape by image exposure and voltage application, and thus manufacturing a printing plate. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive layer 1 having a hydrophilic surface, a transparent conductive layer 2, and a transparent base 3 are made into one to constitute a photoconductor. On its surface, a developer 5 obtained by dispersing particulates of a hydrophobic polymer into a conductive medium which is not compatible with an insulating liquid 4 inactive chemically upon the photoconductive layer 1 is provided through said insulating liquid 4. Then, an original 8 is irradiated with light 9 from the side of the base 3 to perform image exposure and during or after this exposure, a voltage is applied between the base 3 and developer 5 through an electrode 6 to stick the developer in an image shape 5. Then, the developer is dried to manufacture a printing plate which has an image 10 of the hydrophobic polymer, and water-color ink is applied over the plate, thereby transferring the image to an image receiving sheet of paper, etc. |
