The capacitor consists of metal foil layers (2, 3) which alternate with dielectric spacers (4). The container (1) is filled with a dielectric fluid (8). The spacers (4) consist, for example, of foil (5), paper (6) and foil (7). The dielectric fluid contains the following components: 80 - 99% by weight of a compound having one of the following general formulae: <IMAGE> or mixtures of these compounds: 20 - 1% by weight of a compound having one of the following general formulae: <IMAGE> or mixtures of these compounds. In the formulae, the symbols R and the symbols R1 denote identical or different alkyl residues (radicals) having 2 to 4 C atoms. <IMAGE>
