PURPOSE:To satisfy demands for improvement of scanning ability and filling efficiency and improvement of knocking resistance by locating an exhaust throttle valve in an exhaust gas passage so that reflux of exhaust gas is practicable even in a supercharge region. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust throttle valve 40 is arranged on the downstream of the connection part between an EGR passage 35 and an exhaust gas passage 12 of an engine with a mechanical supercharger. The exhaust throttle valve 40 forms a reacting-to-pressure valve which is started to open when an exhaust gas pressure is increased to a given opening starting pressure. The exhaust throttle valve 40 is provided with an auxiliary means to assist opening operation of the exhaust throttle valve 40 by means of a force responding to a pressure in the exhaust gas passage in an operation region, where an exhaust gas pressure exceeds a opening starting pressure, to fully open the exhaust throttle valve 40. |
