PURPOSE:To improve efficiency of measurement and calculation works by combining vernier calipers and a slide rule and making the slider of the calipers serve as the cursole of the slide rule. CONSTITUTION:Vernier calipers are constituted with a main rule 1, slider 2 and middle rule 3. On the slider 2 a glass plate on which a cursor line is marked is fixed. When the calipers are used as vernier calipers, the slider 2 and the middle rule 3 are connected by screwing in the screw 16 of the slider 2 into a beveled hole 17 of the middle rule 3. When the calpers are used as a slide rule, the screw 16 is manipulated to loosen the connection between the slider 2 and middle rule 3. |
