PURPOSE:To maintain the properties of starting and accelerating of the engine in a high level by a method wherein the primary side carburettor of a twin- carburettor is constituted so as to use gasoline, while the secondary side carburettor thereof is constituted so as to supply alcohol, in the internal-combustion engine using gasoline and alcohol together. CONSTITUTION:The carburettor 3 to be attached to a suction air manifold 2, is constituted of the primary side carburettor 4 and the secondary side carurettor 5, both of which are independent to each other. Respective carburettors 4, 5 are constituted so as to use gasoline and alcohol such as methanol, ethanol or the like as the fuel therefor, and are equipped with float chambers 6, 17, main fuel paths 10, 21 with main air bleeds 11, 22 and throttle valves 16, 23 respectively. An actuator 26 for controlling air-fuel ratio is connected to the primary side carburettor 4 and the actuator 26 is constituted so that two ports 29, 30, opening at the inside of the valve chamber 28 thereof, are connected to main and slow air bleeds 11, 15 through paths 37, 37 while movable bodies 27 having needle valves 31, 32 are displaced in accordance with the output of an exhaust gas sensor 25. |
