PURPOSE:To avoid scratch on the surface of a magnetic disc, through an accurate retract control, by switching the connection between a voice coil and a driving control circuit in response to the result of detection of the retract control circuit or between the voice coil and a current supplying means. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic head performs data write and readout, a retract control circuit 10 controls a relay 11 to select the contacts of switches 16 and 17 to the terminal (a) respectively. When power of the magnetic disc device is turned on, the retract control circuit detects the state of a retract switch 14 and when it is known that a carriage is not in retract state, the control circuit 10 flows a current to the relay 11 to select the contacts of the switches 16 and 17 to the terminal (b). The charge of a capacitor 13 is discharged to a voice coil 8 to move the voice coil 18 toward the direction where the carriage is in retract state. |
