1520992 Blood filter JOHNSON & JOHNSON and PUROLATOR INC 26 Feb 1976 [27 Feb 1975] 07636/76 Heading BID [Also in Division D1] A blood filter (Fig. 2 not shown) comprises an unbonded, uncalendered, regular, evensided twill woven fabric of monofilament yarns with pores in the range 17 to 23 microns. The weave is two up and two down, and the yarns are nylon or polyester of 30 to 36 microns dia., preferably 32 microns. The filter comprises a cylindrical housing with an inlet (18) and air vent (19) at the top, enclosing the fabric (20) in the form of a pleated annulus, sealed to an end cap at the top and to the housing around lower outlet (23), and supported by an internal mesh cylinder (21). The fabric could alternatively be a non-pleated cylinder. |
