PURPOSE:To straighten a curved working material easily and satisfactorily by generating speed differences in roughing rolls according to the rate of curving of the working material delivered from the roughing rolls therby straightening the working material automatically. CONSTITUTION:If a working material 4' made by rolling an intermediate working materal 3 with roughing rolls 1, 2 is bent, for example, upward, a shielding plate 9 is lifted upward by a spring 5, and the quantity of the light proportional to the rate of curving from a light emitting source enters a photoelectric conversion part 11. The part 11 outputs an electric signal having the level value proportional to the quantity of the detected light. This output electric signal is amplified with an amplifier 15, and is inputted to a servomotor 16. The motor 16 rotates and drives a planetary carrier at the speed coresponding to the input quantity of electricity to decrease the rotating speed of the roll 1, thereby generating a micro-difference from the rotating speed of the roll 2 and correcting the bend produced in the material 4'. |
