PURPOSE:To improve the decrease of the bonding strength of the titled fiber when it is incorporated in rubber and exposed in such a state at a high temperature for a long period of time, by employing a liquid mixture of a specific phenol/resorcinol-containing compound and rubber latex and a blocked isocyanate. CONSTITUTION:To import a bondability with rubber to polyester fiber, a liquid mixture of rubber latex and a reaction mixture obtained by condensing a resorcinol/formaldehyde precondensate with a compound of the formula (wherein X is Cl or Br, Y and Z are each H, OH, Cl, Br or 1-4C alkyl, n=1-3), e.g., 2,6- bis(2',4'-dihydroxyphenylmethyl)-4-chlorophenol) is used as a first-step treating liquid and an aqueous dispersion of a blocked isocyanate (e.g., phenol-blocked triphenylmethane triisocyanate) is used as a second-step treating liquid to carry out a bonding treatment. |
