PURPOSE:To eliminate burning of a space motor and a line feed motor even if the motors are overdriven by switching the phase excitation ON or OFF by fixing other exciting phase while one of the motors is driven, thereby preventing the displacement of the position due to the vibration or typing force. CONSTITUTION:A motor control circuit for a printer using pulse motors for space motors and a line feed motor is composed by providing a common drive element 3 for selecting the full phases of the coils 2a-3d of the space motor and the coils 1a-1d of the line feed motor, providing the first selector groups 4a-4d for selecting the phases of the coils 1a-1d of the line feed motor and the second selector groups 5a-5d for selecting the phases of the coils 2a-2d of the space motor, and providing a control circuit for setting ON or OFF the phase excitation while fixing one exciting phase of the first selectors 4a-4d or the second selector groups 5a-5d while the full phse of both the motors is selected by the common drive element 3 with I/O port 6a and I/O port 10. |
