PURPOSE:To shorten the work time while to improve the yield and to improve the productionability of the light emission tube having the stable characteristic, by fixing the exhaust tube for the light emission tube or a filler tube at one end of the light emission tube or the main tube when encapsulating the electrode. CONSTITUTION:An electrode holder 13 holding an exhaust tube 12 is arranged together with the electrode 9 at one end of a main tube 1 made of a silicon glass cut into the predetermined dimension, then the electrode 9 and one open end of the exhaust tube 12 are inserted into the main tube 1. Here the other end of the main tube is fitted in the recess 15 in the end face of the holder such that the electrode holder 14 holding the electrode 9' will insert the electrode 9' into the main tube. Under this state the main tube 1 is replaced with the inert gas through an inert gas feed tube 10 connected to the exhaust tube 12. Then it is thermally fused from the frequency applying side by means of the gas burner. Consequently the productionability of the light emission tube having stable characteristic can be improved considerably. |
