PRODUCTION OF CALCIUM APATITE SINTERED BODY

PURPOSE:To easily obtain a calcium apatite sintered body with high productivity. CONSTITUTION:Water and a deflocculant are added to a mixture of tricalcium phosphate with calcium carbonate to prepare a slurry, this slurry is molded by slip casting in a gypsum mold and the resulting molded body is heated to obtain a calcium apatite sintered body. The tricalcium phosphate is mixed with the calcium carbonate in 3:l molar ratio after weighing and the water is added by <=50wt.% of the total amt. The tricalcium phosphate is a mixture of alpha-tricalcium phosphate with beta-tricalcium phosphate in (0:1) to (3:1) ratio. The heating temp. is regulated to 600-1,200 deg.C, preferably >=1,000 deg.C.
