PURPOSE:To perform swift and sharp response in driving a wire, by a method wherein the wire part is fixed to the tip of a ceramic vibrator composed by fixing electrodes between ceramic elements, and the electrodes are wired to a power source. CONSTITUTION:The base part of a ceramic vibrator 11 composed by fixing electrodes 12 between ceramic elements 11a is fixed to a fitting surface 13, and each of the electrodes 12 is wired to a power source 17. A hammer part 15 provided at a base part of the wire 14 is fixed to the tip of the vibrator 11, and the tip of the wire 14 is supported by a wire bearing 16. A voltage is impressed on and removed from the electrodes 12 repeatedly by intermittently supplying electric currents from the power source 17 to the electrodes 12, so that the elements 11a are expanded by the impressing of the voltage and is contracted by the removal of the voltage, whereby the vibrator 11 is reciprocatedly vibrated in the direction of the bearing 16, the wire 14 is operated to strike a printing paper through a ribbon provided therebetween, printing a charactor on the paper. |
