TREATMENT OF NITROGEN OXIDE

PURPOSE:To treat nitrogen oxide in diesel engine exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:Diesel engine exhaust gas is treated by bringing the exhaust gas into contact with a centrifugal fluidized bed wherein catalyst particles for catalytically decomposing nitrogen oxide and carbon particles present independently of catalyst particles coexist to decompose nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gas. The NOx conversion ratio of this method is higher than that of a fixed bed system and flexible operation is enabled with respect to the fluctuations of the amount of exhaust gas and a large amount of exhaust gas can be treated by compact apparatus capacity.
