PURPOSE:To provide the subject peptide isolated from the poison bag of a kind of hunter wasp Protonectarina.sylveirae, having a specific structure, exhibiting a strong action on the histamine secretion of mastocytes, and useful for the researches and treatments of allergy and inflammation, etc. CONSTITUTION:The lyophilized poison bag of Protonectarina.sylveirae which is a kind of hunter wasp is homogenized in a 60% acetonitrile aqueous solution containing 0.05% of trifluoroacetic acid under cooling with water and subsequently centrifuged. The supernatant is collected and fractionated by a reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography. An active fraction is separated, treated with trypsin, etc., and further purified by a reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography to provide the objective biologically active peptide represented by formula I (Xaa is Leu which is an amino acid at the C-terminal and whose carboxyl group is amidated), formula II and formula III, having a strong action on the secretion of histamine from mastocytes, and originated from the hunter wasp. |
