In espagnolette fittings which can be drilled into, it is known to modify the housing, which accommodates the pinion for the longitudinal displacement of the espagnolette, by means of a loose independent additional part, in such a way that the operating-handle rose attached to the visible side of the spar is screwed either with or without a stable fastening. To avoid the manufacturer having to carry out steps for assembling the fitting and to prevent sources of faults during fastening, it is proposed to mount the housing extensions on the foot part of the housing so as to be pivotable at a fixed location. When the housing extensions are delivered in the erected position at the factory, that is to say arranged directed away from the cover rail, during the fastening of the espagnolette fitting, the housing extensions automatically adapt to the desired type of fastening for the rose.
