PURPOSE:To increase the operating speed, by providing an input voltage storage capacitor, in a chopper type MOS comparator. CONSTITUTION:A reference voltage Vr is applied to one end A of a capacitor 16 via a switch 13 and an input voltage Vs is applied to it via a switch 14. Another end of the capacitor 16 is connected to an input terminal B of a CMOS inverter 17 and a switch 11 is provided between input and output terminals B and C of the inverter 17. When the switches 11 and 13 turn on and switches 12 and 14 turn off, a potential at the terminals B and C is a threshold voltage of the inverter 17. When the switch 13 turns off and the switch 14 turns on after the switch 11 turns off and the switch 12 turns on, a potential at the terminal B is changed in accordance with the difference between the Vr and Vs, an output of the inverter 17 goes to H or L. Since a capacitor for the input voltage storage is connected to an input terminal E, a timing signal for switch driving can be quickened. |
